The short version
- We buy software licenses on your behalf, as your purchasing agent, and deliver them to you by email.
- The license agreement is between you and the developer, and the developer's terms apply.
- If we can't buy your license, we refund the full amount you paid, in the same coin, with no deductions.
- After we deliver a working license, refunds follow the developer's own policy.
About these terms
These terms apply when you use unboxkey.com or place an order with Unboxkey ("we", "us"). By placing an order, you accept them. If you don't agree with them, don't place an order.
Questions about these terms: support@unboxkey.com.
What we do
Unboxkey is an independent service that buys software licenses on your behalf. When you place an order, you ask us to buy the license you selected from the developer's official store or an authorized dealer, using the payment you send us, and to deliver it to you. For that purchase we act as your purchasing agent. We don't develop, publish or license the software ourselves.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any developer whose products we list. Product names and logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to identify the products.
Your license and the developer's terms
The license agreement for the software (often called an EULA) is between you and the developer. You accept it when you redeem, register, install or use the software. The developer's terms decide, among other things, how many computers you can use the software on, which updates are included, whether the license can be transferred and where it can be activated.
Each product page summarises those terms as we understand them when the page is written, including any limits the developer sets. If the product page and the developer's terms differ, the developer's terms apply.
Support for the software itself, such as installation, features, bugs and compatibility, comes from the developer. We help with your order and the delivery of your license.
Prices
Prices are in US dollars. Each price is the developer's list price plus our service fee, currently 5%, shown as one total with the fee included. You pay the total shown at checkout when you place the order.
Network fees for your crypto transfer are not included. You pay them as the sender.
Payment
You pay in one of the coins and networks shown at checkout. The checkout shows the amount, the address and, for coins whose price moves, how long the amount stays valid. Your payment counts as received once the network has confirmed it the number of times listed on our How to pay page.
- If less than the amount shown arrives, we email you to send the rest. We buy the license once the full amount has arrived. If you would rather cancel, we refund everything you sent, in full.
- If more than the amount shown arrives, we refund the difference in full, in the same coin. We pay the network fee for this refund.
- If you send a coin or network we don't support, or send to a wrong address, the funds may not be recoverable. We help where it is technically possible but can't guarantee recovery.
Crypto transfers can't be reversed by the sender. Check the coin, network, address and amount before you send.
Delivery
We email your license to the address you give at checkout. Depending on the developer, you receive a license key or activation code, a transfer of the license into your own account with the developer, or a license set up on an account in your name. The product page names the format.
Delivery is typically within 2 hours of payment confirmation when you pay between 09:00 and 21:00 UTC, and takes at most 24 hours. These times cover our part. Some developers take extra time on their side; when that is the case, the product page says so.
Check your license as soon as you receive it, and write to us straight away if it doesn't work.
Your responsibilities
- Give a correct email address and check your inbox, including the spam folder.
- Create an account with the developer if the product needs one.
- Read the product page, the system requirements and the developer's terms before you buy.
- Comply with the developer's license terms and with the laws that apply to you.
- Use the service only for lawful purposes, and pay only with funds you are entitled to use.
When we decline an order
We may decline or refund an order we cannot complete: for example, when the developer or dealer refuses the sale, the product or edition is no longer available, or we can't complete the purchase with the amount you paid. In every such case our guarantee applies:
If we can't buy your license, we refund the full amount you paid, in the same coin, with no deductions.
Refunds
Refunds are covered by our refund policy. In short: if we can't buy your license, you get a full refund in the same coin. After we deliver a working license, we can't refund it ourselves; a refund is then possible only if the developer's own refund policy allows it for that license.
Liability
We are responsible for buying and delivering the license you paid for, as these terms describe. We are not responsible for the software itself, for the developer's services, or for changes the developer makes to its products, prices or terms after delivery.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for an order is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under laws that can't be excluded by contract.
Privacy
How we handle your data is described in our privacy policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. The terms in force when you placed an order apply to that order.
