What the decline means
Blackmagic Design sells DaVinci Resolve Studio in its own online store; the US product page showed “Buy Online Now $295” on 19 October 2026. What you buy is an activation key. The store page says that when you order Studio, “your activation key will be emailed to you immediately and your serial number will be emailed to you with a tax invoice during business hours.”
The checkout messages that Blackmagic's store page loads separate the reasons an order can fail. This is the one for a refused card:
Your payment has been declined by the card issuer. Please check your payment details and if the problem persists, contact your bank.
The same set of messages has separate texts for other cases:
- “There are not enough available funds on the card to complete the transaction.” The card works, but the balance or limit is too low.
- “This store does not ship to your country.” The problem is the country, not the card.
- “There has been an error processing your payment.” A general payment error with no reason given.
Is your country in the store list?
Blackmagic's store comes in country versions, chosen with the country selector on the store page. On 19 October 2026 the selector listed 32 countries and regions: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong SAR, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Chinese Taipei, Turkey, the UAE, Ukraine, the United Kingdom and the United States.
South Africa was the only African country on the list, and most countries in the Middle East and South-East Asia were missing too. If your country is not there, there is no local store for you, and a store set to another country may refuse the order. That is why a “card” problem with DaVinci Resolve Studio is sometimes a country problem.
Free fixes to try first
- Read the exact message before you retry. A card-issuer decline or a funds message is for your bank. “This store does not ship to your country” will not change with another card; go to fix 5.
- Buy from your own country's store with your real billing address. If your country is in the selector, choose it, and enter the billing address your bank has on file for the card.
- Ask your bank to allow the payment. Blackmagic's message itself sends you there. Ask the bank to enable international online payments on the card, confirm that the limit covers the order, then try once more.
- Use the PayPal guest checkout or another card. The store's checkout text says: “Click on the credit card icons above to be taken to a secure guest checkout. No PayPal account is required.” (A US variant of the same text says a PayPal account may be required.) The checkout text also describes a bank transfer option, where a customer service representative contacts you to arrange the details.
- Find an authorized reseller. Blackmagic's Resellers page lets you choose a location and a product series, and lists “Authorized Online Resellers” and “Authorized Resellers”. A reseller that sells to your country is the official alternative when Blackmagic's own store does not.
- Contact Blackmagic support. The Blackmagic Support Center has “Email Us” and “Telephone Us” options. Send the exact error text, the store country you chose and the time of the attempt.
Check whether the free DaVinci Resolve is enough
Before you spend more time on the payment, check whether you need Studio at all. Blackmagic says the free version of DaVinci Resolve lets you “edit and finish up to 60 fps in resolutions as high as Ultra HD 3840 x 2160”, with extensive color grading tools and collaboration for several people on the same project.
Studio is the paid upgrade. Blackmagic describes it as having “over 100 advanced features”, including the DaVinci AI Neural Engine, additional Resolve FX and stereoscopic 3D. It also adds professional formats, 10-bit encoding, IMF, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ delivery and digital cinema packages. If your projects need none of these, the free version does the job and the payment problem disappears.
Buy it with crypto through Unboxkey

We buy a DaVinci Resolve Studio activation key from Blackmagic's store or an authorized reseller and email it to you. You download DaVinci Resolve Studio from Blackmagic's website and activate it with the key. Blackmagic's own license terms apply to how you use it.

FAQ
What does “Your payment has been declined by the card issuer” mean on the Blackmagic store?
It means your bank refused the charge, not Blackmagic. The message itself asks you to check your payment details and, if the problem persists, contact your bank. Ask the bank to allow an international online payment for the amount, check that the billing address matches the card, and try once more.
My country is not in the Blackmagic store list. Can I still buy DaVinci Resolve Studio?
Not from Blackmagic's own online store, which on 19 October 2026 had versions for 32 countries and regions and its own message saying “This store does not ship to your country.” Look for an authorized reseller on Blackmagic's Resellers page instead, or use a service that buys the activation key for you. Do not pick another country's store with details that are not yours.
Is the free DaVinci Resolve enough, or do I need Studio?
Blackmagic says the free version lets you edit and finish up to 60 fps in resolutions as high as Ultra HD 3840 x 2160, with extensive color grading and multi-user collaboration. Studio adds over 100 features, including the DaVinci AI Neural Engine, more Resolve FX, stereoscopic 3D, 10-bit encoding and HDR delivery formats. If you do not need those, the free version costs nothing.
How is DaVinci Resolve Studio delivered?
As an activation key. Blackmagic's store says the key is emailed immediately after the order and the serial number follows with a tax invoice during business hours. You download DaVinci Resolve Studio from Blackmagic's website and activate it with the key. Through Unboxkey you get the same activation key by email.
